voyles classic
Mya Ruch placed 9th out of 141 runners at the recent Voyles Classic cross-country race in Sharp Springs, and Will Stephens placed 17th out of 192 runners.

The DCHS XC team had two more very successful meets recently.

On Saturday, September 3, The DCHS XC team traveled to Riverdale High School to compete in the Warrior Invitational. This was one of the toughest races to date, due to the fact that all AA schools competed against the AAA schools. Even with this high competition, we still had one runner receive a medal and 13 runners to beat their best personal record time!

Medal went to Mya Ruch (freshman), who also beat her best PR with a time of 22:02

Best PR times also went to the following runners: Luke Bryant (Sophomore), Jose Rodriguez (Senior), Parker Gassaway (sophomore), Ealy Gassaway (Sophomore), Cody Antoniak (Freshman), Tyree Cripps (Junior), Lydia Brown (Sophomore), Jesse Houser (Senior), Connor Adcock (Freshman), Joseph Rader (Freshman), Dosson Medlin (Sophomore), and Faedra Burns (Junior). Will Stephens (Sophomore) tied his PR time and Bill Miller (Freshman) missed hitting his PR by a mere 8 seconds.

On Tuesday, August 30, The XC team competed at the MSCCA Mid-week competition held at Warren County High School, where three runners brought home medals and top five team placement.

Receiving medals were: in Girls Varsity, Mya Ruch (freshman) placed 1st with a time of 22:48 and in Boys Varsity, Will Stephens (sophomore) placed 8th with a time of 19:45 and Luke Bryant (sophomore) placed 13th with a time of 20:39.

The Boys Varsity also clinched a top 10 finish, coming in fourth place.
