Between last Saturday's home games for the Lady Tigers and Tigers basketball teams, against Grundy County, DeKalb County High School hosted Senior Night. The celebration honored the senior basketball players and cheerleaders for their achievements.
Seniors honored during the event were Presley Agee, Megan Cantrell, Ellisyn Cripps, Hannah Willingham, Aiden Curtis, Holden Hendrix, Luke Jenkins, and Evan Jones.
Presley Agee was escorted by parents Michael and Kelly Agee. She has been a basketball cheerleader for three years and is currently a captain. She has also been a football cheerleader for four years, where she was also a captain, and a DCHS baseball manager.
Among her awards were Most Valuable Cheerleader winner, DEAR cheerleader award winner, Best Cheer award for two years in a row, Best Jumps award, NCA All American Cheerleader nominee three years in a row, and was named to the NCA All American team. Agee is also a member of FBLA, HOSA and Beta Clubs.
A member of Outreach Baptist Church, Agee plans to attend TTU or MTSU, majoring in nursing to become a nurse practitioner.
Megan Cantrell was escorted by her parents Todd and Jenny Cantrell. She is a four-year member of Lady Tiger basketball team and a captain this year. She was also football cheerleader, and a member of the cross country and tennis teams.
Cantrell's achievements include the Best 6th man award winner her junior year, and named Miss DCHS. She is a member of FBLA, Climate Crew, Beta, and Literature Clubs.
A member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church, Cantrell plans to attend college at Tennessee Tech to major in exercise science and become an elementary physical education teacher.
Ellisyn Cripps was escorted by her parents Troy and Jamie Cripps. She is a two-year member of Lady Tiger basketball team, a four-year member of the Tigerette softball team, and a member of cross country team.
Cripps currently serves as Beta president, of which she is a former vice president and secretary. She also served as a four-year student body treasurer, junior homecoming attendant, and was a member of 2019 state tournament basketball team.
She is member of Beta, Climate Crew, and Student Government, and plans to attend college and major in Biology.
Hannah Willingham was escorted by her parents Rob and Deneene Willingham. She is a four-year member of Lady Tiger basketball team and currently a captain. She also plays high school golf.
Willingham is a senior superlative “most likely to cure COVID”, member of Beta, FBLA, and 29+ ACT Club. She plans to attend Tennessee Tech and major in Civil Engineering.
Aidan Curtis was escorted by his parents Brad and Samantha Curtis.
He is a one-year member of Tiger basketball team, and a four-year member of football and baseball teams.
Curtis was the Region 3-4A First Team in football 2019 and 2020, and the 2019 Linebacker of the Year award winner. He plans to attend college and pursue a degree in sports medicine.
Holden Hendrix was escorted by Holly Hendrix. He is a four-year basketball manager, and a four-year member of football team. He plans to attend Tennessee College of Applied Technology.
Luke Jenkins was escorted by his parents Danny and Lindy Jenkins. He is a four-year member of the Tiger basketball team and currently captain, as well as a member of the soccer, cross country, and football teams.
Jenkins was a Junior usher for 2020 graduation, awarded Best Attitude his junior basketball season, and a member of 21+ club. He is a member of Beta, climate crew, and FBLA clubs, and the Literature Club president.
He is a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and plans to attend Tennessee Tech and major in mechanical engineering.
Evan Jones was escorted by his parents Chris and Teresa Jones. He is a four-year member of the Tiger basketball team and currently a captain. He is also a four-year member of the Tigers football team.
Jones was named 2019 2nd Team All Region, 2020 1st Team All Region 3-4A, 2020 Defensive Lineman of the Year, and the 2020 "Most Likely to Succeed."
Jones is a member of FBLA and FLA, and plans to major in marketing and graphic design while also playing football for the Tennessee Tech University Golden Eagles.
