The DCHS soccer team competed in the FCHS Tournament last weekend, coming home with two losses and a tie.
On April 9, Blackman High Defeated DeKalb 5-0. Skylar Pease had nine saves in the game.
Later that day, DeKalb tied Franklin 0-0. Pease had five saves in that match.
DeKalb faced White County the next day, getting edged out in a 1-0 game. Pease recorded three saves against White.
The DeKalb junior varsity team competed as well, coming away with one win, two losses and a tie.
Lincoln County tied the JV squad 1-0 in their first game of the tourney. Goalie Wesley Carpenter logged three saves in the game.
Blackman then took a 3-0 win from DeKalb. Carpenter had three saves in the match, while Jose Torres stopped seven.
DeKalb faced Lincoln again in the third game, getting a 2-0 win. Ealy Gassaway and Noah Morris scored one goal each.
Fairview took the local team down 4-0 in their final tournament game. Torres recorded one save, while Pease stopped 10 from hitting the net.
Meanwhile, DeKalb traveled to Warren County on April 12, suffering a 4-2 loss. Pease recorded nine saves, while Cristobal Flores scored both goals, the first with an assist from Roberto Mata.
The JV team from DeKalb also lost to Warren, 5-1. Carpenter had three saves, while Torres had five, and Dylan Easterwood scored one goal.
DeKalb traveled to Livingston on April 14, returning with a tie with Livingston Academy on the books. Pease had nine saves in the contest, while Flores and Miguel Rodriguez scored one goal each.
The JV lost 1-0 against LA. Torres and Carpenter had five saves each.
DeKalb played Smith County to a 2-2 tie on April 19.
Pease recorded an epic right saves in the contest, while Flores and Mata put goals in.
The JV team won their game with Smith 1-0.
Carpenter blocked eight attempts at the goal, scoring the winner himself as well, while Torres had seven saves for a team total of 15.
DeKalb will take a trip to Jamestown to play York Institute on April 26 at 6:30 p.m. before returning to Smithville to take on Macon County on April 28 at 7 p.m.
