DCHS soccer has rough week

DeKalbs Sophie Hackett drives towards the goal earlier this season. The Tigerettes had a tough week dropping two games, one to Stone Memorial Tuesday and the other to Livingston on Thursday.

The Tigerettes hit a rough patch on the pitch this week as they faced both Stone Memorial and Livingston Academy.

The Tigerettes were down 5-0 at halftime Tuesday, as Lady Panther Mercy McClung took advantage early with two goals within six minutes. Stone’s Christina Young hit another at the 17-minute mark with an assist by Ali Sieber. Tierra Scoville with some help from Mercy McClung made it 4-0 28 minutes into the contest and Katie Fagan tacked on another before the break.
Young scored another insurance goal with 6 minutes left to play for the final score.
DeKalb’s goalkeeper, Meghan Brandt, made 17 saves in the contest.

Livingston’s Jaycee Hammock with an assist by Kaitlyn Rumancik plus a goal by Brooke Boles gave the Academy a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes of play.
The Tigerettes fought hard to come back as Taylor Foutch netted one at the 65 minute mark with an assist by Anna Rachel Blair.
Livingston’s Kaitlyn Huntley added another goal 68 minutes for the 3-1 lead.
DeKalb’s Sarette Aranda brought the Tigerettes to within 1 with a goal 74 minutes in, but time ran out before DeKalb could tie.
Tigerette net-minder Megan Brandt had a busy game with 28 saves for DeKalb.
