DCHS Soccer seeks 100th win
5-1 sports soccer
Yes, the officials are obstacles during a soccer game as Eli Lomas found out during a match with Warren County last Thursday.

District Rival Livingston came to town Tuesday, April 23, with one thing on their mind ... to beat the Tigers.  What the Wildcats did not expect was the first half to play out the way it did.
The Tigers controlled possession of the ball a big percentage of the time in the first half which resulted in three goals, two from Eli Lomas and another from Brandon Leiser. The crowd was into the game, and the Tigers were pumped to be up by three going into halftime.
As any well-coached team does, Livingston came out with a different game plan in the second half, resulting in two goals for Livingston and putting the score at 3-2 with only 10 minutes remaining.  The play was very intense on both sides during those 10 minutes, but DeKalb came away with the win 3-2.
The win locked up DeKalb County for the second-place seed in the district tournament.
On Thursday DeKalb took the field wanting to get two things accomplished, give a proper farewell to their graduating Seniors and to win the team's 100th win in school history.  The night began with a ceremony honoring the exiting seniors.  The Tigers have big cleats to fill next season as they watched Ben Pafford, Danny Alvarez, Juan Torres, Ben Driver, Brandon Jones, Jason Judkins, and Spencer Maynard step on their home field for their last regular season game.
Even with all the hype and ceremony, Warren County was not going to back down. Warren came out on the board first with a goal early in the first half as they controlled the ball a big percentage of the time, but with seconds left in the first half, Eli Lomas pulled one in the back of the net for the equalizer, leaving the score tied 1-1 at the end of the half.
After another game plan change by Coach K, the Tigers came out on fire.  After several missed opportunities, Brandon Leiser finally scored with only 14 minutes left on the clock.  At that point it looked as if the 100th win was in sight, but Warren County had different ideas as they put in two quick goals in the last eight minutes of the game!
Although DeKalb fell short, their sights are still on the prize of a district championship which they battle for the first full week of May.  DeKalb closes the season traveling to AAA foe Cookeville High School on Tuesday night.  Kickoff is at 6:30.
