The DeKalb County High School Rodeo team traveled to the University of Tennessee at Martin last week for the final competition of the year before state finals. The event took place at the Ned R. McWherter Ag Pavilion on May 3-4, where several local athletes performed well in multiple events.Senior cowboy, Cody Hattaway, came on strong in the steer wrestling event, with a win on Saturday with a 4.81 second run, and again on Sunday. In the team roping, he placed sixth on Saturday, and came in fourth for Sunday's rodeo.
