DeKalb teams play at TYBA open tourney

The DeKalb 11-12-year-old team were the State Runner Up at the TYBA tournament. DeKalb Youth Baseball was on the field once more last week, with several teams competing in the Tennessee Youth Baseball Association’s State Open Championships held in Murfreesboro. In the 5 to 6-year-old division, DeKalb got a 23-3 victory over the Algood Diamond Dawgs on Friday, then came back on Saturday to beat Warren County, 11-6, and the Smyrna Dirtdawgs, 15-13. On Sunday, DeKalb won the first game, beating the Huntland Stars in a close game, 17-16.
