DeKalb Youth Baseball All-Stars have been chosen for 2016.
The Major League All-Star team will be coached by Shannon Cantrell, Tony Cross and Dwain Rowe, and will include:

•Kolter Kilgore
•Silas Cross
•Kobbe Clary
•Evan Sprague
•Matt Rowe
Major League players also recognized with special awards at the league’s end of season award ceremony last week were Eric Midgett Memorial Sportsmanship Award winner James Tramel of the Webb’s Pharmacy team, and Best Pitcher Award winner Levi Cantrell, also from Webb’s. The mike Williams Memorial Award, which goes to the player with the highest batting average, was claimed by Kobbe Clary, of Webb’s as well, with a .454 average for the season.
The Gold Glove went to Silas Cross of Webb’s, and Kolter Kilgore of Robert’s Ice was named the 2106 MVP.

The Eric Midgett Memorial Sportsmanship Award for Minor League went to Brayden Summers of Insta Cash. Landon Cripps, who went 5-1 as a starter for Insta Cash, took the Best Pitcher Award, and Briz Trapp earned the Mike Williams Memorial Award with a .520 batting average.
The Gold Glove went to Westin Wright of Insta Cash, and Briz Trapp took the 2016 Minor League MVP Award.

The Eric Midgett Memorial Sportsmanship Award went to Morgan Smithson and Danny Van Dyne, both of DeKalb Tire and Service. Luke Midgett of DeKalb Tire took the Mike Williams Memorial with a whopping .655 batting average for the season, and Kolin Young, also of DeKalb Tire, earned the Gold glove. The Machine Pitch MVP for 2016 is Devin Fish of Liberty State Bank.
The Tennessee Youth Baseball Association (TYBA) will host state tournaments beginning July 15 at Barfield Crescent Park at 697 Barfield Crescent Road in Murfreesboro.
