The DeKalb Youth Baseball season is on the books and the players, and teams were honored last week during an awards ceremony.
The 2020 Most Valuable Player awards went to Carson Donnell for Senior League, Preston Taylor for Major League, and Aiden Buchanan was named MVP for Coach Pitch.
Konner Young received the Senior League Golden Glove award, while the Major League award went to Reed Midgett. Brantley Starkey received the Coach Pitch Golden Glove award.
The Best Pitcher award went to Konner Young for Senior League, while Preston Taylor was named Best Pitcher in Major League.
The Mike Williams Memorial Batting Championship awards went to the Yankee's Jacob Hendrix for Senior League, with a .538 batting average, while Anthony Moore of the A's received the Major League award, with a .592 batting average. Johan Straight of the Giants won the Coach Pitch award, with a .931 average.
The Braves won the Senior League Championship, while the Yankees were the runner-up. The Diamondbacks were the Major League Champs, with the A's coming in as Runner-ups. The Cardinals took the Coach Pitch Championship, while the Giants were Runner-ups.
The Eric Midgett Sportsmanship Award was presented to Senior League player Gavin Cooper, while Andrew Cathey received the Major League Award. River Arnold was presented the award for Coach Pitch.
DeKalb County Youth Baseball League President Casey Midgett was also presented with a special award as Volunteer of the Year for all his hard work making this year's season possible.
