The DMS Soccer season is underway, and the Saints have jumped to a 3-0 start, going undefeated so far in just their second season as a team.

Their first victory came against conference contender Smith County at their home field on March 20. The game remained scoreless in the first half, until Micheal Elswick put a shot in from above the 18-yard box to put the saints up 1-0. Minutes later, Rodrigo Sosa put another goal in for DMS, making the final score 2-0.

Goalie Juwain Smith contributed three saves to the Saints win.

The Saints met Central Magnet, again in an away game, on March 24 in another nailbiter. After another scoreless first half, Alan Munoz put a perfect cross to streaking forward Dakota White, who put the ball in to push DMS ahead 1-0 with only two minutes to play.

The defense, in front of goalkeeper Wesley Carpenter, gave another solid performance, as they shut out a powerful Central Magnet team. This proved to be the biggest test so far for the young DMS squad.

Dakota White put the winning goal in for DMS, Alan Munoz got the assist, and Wesley Carpenter had five saves for the Saints defensive effort.

The Saints finally got a home game on March 26. Overton County came to town, and the biggest challenge both teams faced was the weather.

As the first whistle blew, the flood gates opened, and the rain fell for the rest of the night. Both teams could barely see or stay warm, but at the end of the day DMS had the advantage.

In front of very dedicated, drenched parents and fans, DMS came prepared to play. The Saints jumped out to an early lead, as Ealy Gassaway put one in the back of the net. Dakota White and Micheal Elswick both scored in the first before the half as well, bringing the score at halftime to 3-0.

DMS didn't stop there, as Elswick put in two more goals to complete the hat trick, bringing the final score to 5-0, and beginning the DMS season three shut outs.

Micheal Elswick scored three goals in the game, while Ealy Gassaway and Dakota White each put one in. Goalie Wesley Carpenter contributed six saves to the Saints defensive effort.

DMS will face Macon County in Smithville at 6 p.m. on April 10. Come out and support these hard working young men as the Saints try to stay undefeated on the year.
