The DMS Lady Saints Fast Pitch Softball Team is excited about an upcoming fundraising event. On Dec. 22, they will be hosting a "Male Beauty Contest" during the DMS home basketball game, which will be starting at 6 p.m. Each young man will be dressed in their finest lady attire and will be collecting money throughout the game. The top collector will be crowned DMS Softball Queen as well as a first, second, third, and fourth runner up based on amounts raised. The top five will receive a sash, crown and flowers, compliments of the DMS Lady Saints Softball Team.

"We are proud of how much we have accomplished on our field, said Cindy Taylor, softball volunteer. Currently we still have a partial loan that we are striving to get paid off. Once that is done, lights is a must and it is going to take us a while to raise enough money to purchase those. We sincerely appreciate all the support we have received so far, as all of the money and work on the field has been done through volunteers, donations and fundraising. When the field is complete, we will have spent probably around $100,000 on this project. But, we still have a ways to go. We still need lights, a concession stand with restroom facilities and some field maintenance. Again we ask for the community’s continual support as we will accomplish our goal."
