The DeKalb West Bulldogs traveled to Cannon County last week to take on the Knights of Auburntown. The game would be a tale of two halves, with the Bulldogs making a surge in the second half of the game.

Grayson Redmon and Garrett Hayes scored the only four points for the Bulldogs in the first period, each getting a two-point basket. The Knights jumped out to a big lead, taking 12 points.

Lucas Hale got a two-point basket in the second period, while Dallas Cook got two points from free throws, and Redmon got one. Auburntown scored nine, taking a 21-9 lead at halftime.

The Bulldogs scored six in the third period, with a pair of two-pointers by Cook, and one by Dillon Sullivan. The Knights scored only five, but kept the lead, 26-15.

DWS opened up with 15 points in the fourth period, with a two and three-pointer by Hayes, and a pair of two-pointers by Redmon. Lucas Hale scored a three-point basket, while Nathaniel Crook took a two-pointer. Noah Roberts also scored one point off of a free throw attempt. Auburntown only scored 11 in the fourth, but that was enough to seal the 37-30 victory.

Cook went two for four on free throws, while Roberts was one for two. Redmon was one for three, while Sullivan and Levi Driver were each zero for two. Crook was zero for one.
