DWS Dawgs take win against Cannon County

The DeKalb West Dawgs’ season has been underway with games against Cannon County, Gordonsville, and Prescott Middle. 
On April 19, the Dawgs raveled to Woodbury where they came away with a win against rival Cannon County. Jacob Self was the winning pitcher with four strike outs and two walks.  He gave up five hits in the game. 
Coach Paul Rowland said the Dawgs bats were hot with 10 hits during play. Jacob Self, Seth Whaley, Christian Pruitt, and Paxton Butler each took a single in the game, while Brady Hughs recorded a single and a double. Colter Norris made a single RBI, Caleb Stanley took a double RBI, John Maynard two singles and a RBI, and Grayson Redmon was walked.
The Dawgs came away with a victory with a 4-1 final score. 
On April 25 the Dawgs were at home against Gordonsville where they lost with a final score of 7-2. 
Pitcher Jacob Self gave up four runs with no hits, hitting three batters and walked three. Seth Whaley came in to relieve Self and recorded two strike outs, one walk and one hit.
During batting, Self was walked and Brady Hughs reached base with a single.  Paxton Butler then had a rip out to center field and scored Self and Hughs. This is the only time the Dawgs would score, leaving a total of seven batters stranded on base.
Jacob Self and Seth Whaley took a walk during the game, Caleb Stanley and Christian Pruitt took two walks, and Brady Hughs recorded a walk and a single. John Maynard and Paxton Butler each came away with a single.
On April 26, the Dawgs were once again at home, this time facing Prescott Middle. 
John Maynard came off the hill with the loss. Maynard struck out six, walked one and gave up 10 hits. The Dawgs had 10 errors for the night and gave up three runs in the first inning, one run in the second and third innings, and five runs in the fourth inning.
Jacob Self and John Maynard took a single during the game, while Caleb Stanley had a single RBI. Those who reached base on walks were, Jacob Self, Caleb Stanley, Christian Pruitt and Paxton Butler. The Dawgs left eight batters stranded on base with a final score of Prescott Middle 10, Dekalb Dawgs 1.
