Like most spring sports this season, the DeKalb West School
Bulldogs have struggled to get games on the books with heavy rain in the area,
and now with coronavirus fears canceling games. The team has been able to get a
few games in, dropping two and winning one.

On March 9, the Bulldogs took on Avery Trace and came away with a 4 to 1 victory.

On Thursday, March 12, the DeKalb West School Bulldogs fell behind early and couldn’t mount a comeback in a 7 to 2 loss to Prescott.
Prescott scored seven runs on six hits and made one error. The Bulldogs scored two runs on one hit and made two errors. Prescott scored two runs in the 1st inning, one run in the 2nd, two runs in the 4th, and two runs in the 6th inning. The Bulldogs scored two runs in the 1st inning.
Ian Colwell, the losing pitcher, gave up three runs on two hits over two innings. He struck out one. Jordan Parker and Tyler Jackson each came in relief for two innings.
Ty Webb had a hit for the Bulldogs.
When asked about the team, Head Coach Scott Odom told the Smithville Review, "We're looking good. We've had a couple of well pitched games by Briz Trapp and Konner Young, and then some of our other pitchers have thrown well too. Ian Colwell threw a couple of innings, and then Tyler Jackson threw a couple of innings, and Jordan Parker."
"Pitching has been good," Odom continued. "Our defense has been good. We've got a lot of runners on base, but we just haven't been able to bring them in. We've not gotten that big hit, and that's kept us from scoring."
Like most other outdoor sports this year, Coach Odom said the weather has been the team's biggest opponent. "We've been rained out four games, and our game with Oakland is cancelled because of coronavirus." With more school systems in the area closing, the Bulldogs' continuing season is in question.
