Don’t call them little people. They are midgets, and they don’t mind throwin’ a whuppin’ down.
The Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation visited the local Amvets post Friday night. You heard it right. Not just midget wrestling … extreme midget wrestling.
The ring was a bit undersized at 12 x 12. It isn’t a regular-sized ring because they’re not regular-sized wrestlers.
The competitors average just over four-feet tall, and weigh in at about 100 pounds, but don’t let their size fool you. These wrestlers could kick your butt. They are a troupe who get into bar fights more than 150 times a year. They smack each other over the head with chairs. They hurl each other over tables, and they break pool cues across each other’s faces.
They bill themselves as “Half the size, twice the violence.”
The mayhem at the Amvets post, however was all in the name of charity. Proceeds from the event will go toward Amvet projects such as scholarship, community service, and child welfare and hospital programs.
