The newest member of the 1,000 Point Club, DCHS Junior, Kadee Ferrell, was honored during the Tigers' halftime against Sequatchie County last Saturday afternoon.

During Ferrell's freshman year, she totaled 502 points, 205 rebounds, 88 assists, and 43 steals on her way to being on the 8AA All-District Team - Second Team, All Freshman Tean, and the 4AA All-Region Team.

During her sophomore year, Ferrell totaled 355 points, 193 rebounds, 68 assists, and 46 steals on her way to the 8AA All-District 1st Team, 4AA All-Region Team, and being named as the Daytona Beach Classic Most Valuable Player.

So far this season, Ferrell has 197 points, grabbed 103 rebounds, 33 assists, and 24 steals. She broke the 1,000 point mark on January 28, at a game in Cannon County as she lead the team with 27 points and 10 rebounds.

Ferrell was presented a "1,000 Point" game ball and a plaque by Kathy Pugh. This is the first year of the Roy and Kathy Pugh 1,000 Point ball. The Pugh's have been gracious supporters of DCHS basketball and the 1,000 point game ball has been named on their behalf. Roy passed away in December.

"It feels amazing to reach some of my goals," Ferrell told the Smithville Review. "This has been one of my goals since I came to high school, and it feels good to reach it."

When asked about his outstanding player, Lady Tigers Head Coach Danny Fish had high praise. "It's been a pleasure to coach Kadee," said Fish. "She's a really hard workers and really self motivated. She's fun to be around. To see someone as dedicated to their craft as much as she is, being as young as she is, just says a lot about her and her upbringing. She's a great teammate too. She's everything you'd want in a great player."

Kadee was joined by her parents, Anthony and Trena Ferrell, her coach, Danny Fish, and all of her fellow teammates during the presentation.
