France Wins Fast-Pitch Softball World Series

Kenzie France of Smithville, TN stands proudly as she holds her winning trophy from the United States Fast-Pitch Softball World Series held in Orlando, Florida recently.

A local girl competed in the World Series Fast-Pitch Softball Tournament and brought home the win. Kenzie France, daughter of Will and Kim Frazier and Tim France of Smithville, competed with her team (Easton Speed 02) in the National Championship tournament in Orlando Florida recently. Although France’s team is based out of Murfreesboro, it is comprised of girls from the Middle Tennessee area including Cookeville, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Lavergne, and Smithville.

 

Easton Speed 02 competed in the United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Fast-Pitch Softball World Series July 13–19, where they won the National Championship title. Easton Speed went 7-0 in the tournament, giving up a mere 10 runs for the entire week. Easton Speed 02 faced teams from Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Kentucky and Louisiana to make the finals, where they faced and defeated Worth Cobras 02 from Georgia 9-2 to win the Championship.

 

The team received their individual and team trophies as well as National Championship rings and also had the opportunity to meet the USSSA Pride, a National Professional Fast-pitch team based in Orlando Florida. Their championship story was featured on News Channel 2, WKRN.
