The Lady Tigers  took on White County last Monday night in the last game before the play-offs began and came away victorious with a final score of 42-33.
In the first quarter, it looked like the Warriors would walk away with the game as they poured on a 13-3 opening quarter beating, with the single basket for the Lady Tigers coming from Alex Meadows.
In the second quarter the Lady Tigers refused to go down without a fight as they came back on a 13-0 run in the second period, not allowing the Warriorettes to score a single point and taking the lead going into the half with the score at 16-13.
The Lady Tigers were led in scoring in the period by Chelsea Lewis who dropped in six.
In the third quarter, it was White County coming out on top this time. After not having a single point for over 12 minutes through the game, they started to make a comeback and outscored the Lady Tigers 16-10. The Lady Tigers were led in scoring in the third by Loren Cripps with five.
In the fourth quarter,  the Lady Tigers went on a 11-0 run  putting DeKalb back on top with just 48 seconds remaining in the game, the score standing at 38-29. With the Lady Tigers having such a big lead White County scoring chances were few.  Every time the Lady Tigers had possession,  the Warriors were forced to foul giving DeKalb the chance for easy baskets. The Lady Tigers outscored the Warriorettes 16-4 in enroute to a Lady Tiger win.
The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by Alex Meadows with 17, followed by Loren Cripps with 13. Chelsea Lewis scored eight and Abbey Caldwell finished with four.
The Lady Tigers again traveled to White County to begin play in the District Tournament Championship last Wednesday against heavily rivaled Cannon County.
The Lionettes easily walked away with a victory defeating the Lady Tigers 58-40.
In the first quarter, the offense for DeKalb was dismal as they managed only five points, all of which came from Chelsea Lewis.
The Lady Tigers were outscored 19-5 in the opening period of play.
In the second quarter, the Lionettes never let off  the Lady Tigers shutting them down to only three points in the period all the while ripping the Lady Tiger defense for 15 more points and extending their lead to 34-8.
In the third quarter, the Lady Tigers showed a shimmer of life as they had their statistically best quarter tossing in 13 much needed points. With the offense finally firing away at the Cannon County defense, the Lady Tigers defense also found a slight improvement as they held the Lionettes to 12 points.
The Lady Tigers were led in scoring by senior Alex Meadows as she tossed in two three-pointers leading to the hope that maybe DeKalb stood a chance for a comeback with DeKalb inching closer to close the gap.
In the fourth quarter with Cannon County in possession of such a commanding lead, their coach played in the freshman team.
Though the freshman team for the Lionettes were now in the Lady Tigers had found their mark in shooting the ball, something they had lacked in the first half.
DeKalb chalked up 19 points on their way to outscore Cannon County but the Lady Tigers’ efforts were far too late as there was not enough time to stage a comeback as they fell defeated once again to the hands of Cannon.
The Lady Tiger were led in scoring for the last time by senior Alex Meadows with 12 followed by Chelsea Lewis with 10. Abbey Caldwell and Dannielle Tyson each had six. Loren Cripps had five and Lydia Foutch scored one.
