Jacey Hatfield hit for the cycle during her squad's blow out win this past week.

A late White County rally wasn’t enough to spoil the DeKalb Tigerettes winning streak as they survived a six-inning comeback attempt by the Lady Warriors, winning 8-5 in Sparta as Jacey Hatfield hit for the cycle.

The Tigerettes led the entire game, scoring one in the third and three in the fourth to hold a 4-0 lead as they went into the bottom of the inning. Sparta would muster two runs to cut the DeKalb lead in half; however, one in the fifth and three in the sixth gave the Tigerettes a comfortable margin down the stretch. The Lady Warriors were able to send in three in the sixth but it wasn’t enough.

Jacey Hatfield had a perfect day at the plate, going four-for-four with a single, double, triple and homerun, giving her a rare cycle. Kenzie France was on her heels as she went three-for-four including a triple. Elsie Cripps and Joni Robinson also had a pair of hits as the Tigerettes outhit Sparta 13 to 11 during the contest.

Kenzie France, Madison Whitehead and Emme Colwell shared pitching duties for the Tigerettes, combining for five strike outs. France was credited with the win after three innings of work.

The Tigerettes next turned their attention to Livingston who came to town last week and left disappointed after a 14-1 shellacking by the DeKalb squad. The party was over in the second inning as the Tigerettes had their biggest single inning of the season, scoring 12 runs. The huge inning would not have been needed; however, as the pitching trio of Emme Colwell, Madison Whitehead and Kenzie France gave up only one hit and one run. Kenzie France, Megan Walker, Maddison Parsley and Braya Murphy all had two hits in the game with one of Murphy’s being a homerun.
