Illinois man wins Fiddler 5K

HERE WE GO!!! Another record-setting number of participants entered this years Fiddler 5K run with 423 runnners. The competitors were chip timed this year for better and more efficient results.

This years 14th annual Fiddler 5K had a record 423 registered competitors on Saturday morning.
Though tempatures were already in the mid-80’s it didn’t stop any runners from giving it their best.
The overall winner of  Fiddler 5K was 18-year-old Matthew Cleveland of Danville, Ill., posting the best time in the 3.1 mile course in 16:53.
The overall winner in the women’s division was defending champion Morgan Voyles.
The 17-year-old repeat winner completed the course with women’s best time of 21:59.
In the Masters’ division the men’s winner was 54-year-old Jimmy Dawson, posting a time of 19:07.
Dawson is also a repeat winner in the contest.
The best time for a women in the masters’ division was 40-year-old Sarah Heart with a winning time of 23:58.
The One-Mile-Fun-Run winner was 12-year-old Hunter Jennings with the best time of 7:27.
The fastest female in the One-Mile-Run competition was 11-year-old Ellen Bandy.
She completed the course with a time of 8:21.
The Fiddler 5K and the One-Mile-Fun Run is a fundraiser to benefit the Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County.
