An inmate at the DeKalb County Jail was charged with vandalism last week after urinating on the floor and wall in the courthouse.
Joshua Wayne Goff, 35, was first arrested on June 21 for a fourth offense of driving on a suspended license. According to Sheriff Patrick Ray, a deputy on a routine patrol saw a white truck traveling in the middle of the roadway. After conducting a traffic stop, the officer found that Goff was the driver of the vehicle.
Goff reportedly handed the deputy an identification card instead of a driver license, and a computer check revealed that Goff’s license were suspended. The sheriff said Goff had three prior convictions for driving on a suspended license without reinstatements.
His bond was set at $5,000, and he will appear in court on that charge on July 21.
Then, on June 23, in a room of the courthouse where prisoners from the jail are kept while waiting to be called into another courtroom for their scheduled appearance before the judge, Goff allegedly urinated on the wall and floor. Ray said that both the wall and floor had to be sanitized.
His bond was set at $2,500, and he will be return to court on that charge on June 30.
Meanwhile, Sarah Nicole South, 31, was charged with criminal impersonation on June 21.
Ray said a deputy stopped a vehicle, in which South was a passenger, for a driving infraction. When the occupants were asked to produce a driver license or identification, South allegedly gave a false name and date of birth.
An anonymous person reportedly notified central dispatch that South had used a fake name, and dispatch informed the officer. The deputy reportedly returned to the vehicle and called South by he r real name, which she answered to. South reportedly admitted to the officer that she gave the wrong name fearing that she might have active warrants against her. She did not.
Her bond was set at $5,000.
