DeKalb County High School baseball standout Steven Jennings has signed to become the first Tiger to play baseball in the Southeastern Conference.
The Tiger pitcher and shortstop signed a letter of intent Wednesday to play baseball for the Ole Miss Rebels after high school. Jennings was joined by his parents, Randy and Jill Jennings, his sister Cori, DCHS baseball coach Jon Adam Kefauver, members of the Tiger baseball team, and DCHS football coach Steve Trapp in the DCHS library for the signing.
Jennings, a senior who also served as quarterback for the Tiger football team before an injury ended his football career, will reportedly be ready to play one more season of baseball in DeKalb before embarking on his college career.
