Junior pro Tiger Ryan Lyons was a force to be reckoned with Saturday, as DeKalb took on Fentress County.
The junior division youth league Tigers had the second game Saturday night after a big win by the Pee Wees over Fentress County.They didn’t disappoint, and followed up with a 19-0 win of their own taking the Bulldogs to school.Some opening drive defensive tackles by Nick Murphy set the tone as he was in the Bulldogs backfield without an invitation.The Tiger offense didn’t want to be left out, and Ryan Lyons ran 33 yards for a first-and-goal for DeKalb in early game action. Then Lyons finished what he started by punching it in for a TD. Murphy made the PAT for a 7-0 lead.After the break, the Tigers, led by quarterback Jon Hendrix, started a scoring drive where Lyons broke out for a 35-yard TD run to make it 13-0. The PAT was unsuccessful.Hendrix started the fourth quarter off strong for the Tigers with a 27-yard run for a first down.
