Lady Bulldogs claim victories

The DeKalb West School Lady Bulldogs were back in action last week, netting a couple of victories while playing on their home court.

On Monday, November 7, the Ladies hosted a big crowd as they took on visiting Southside. The girls would take the lead in the first period, and maintain throughout the game.

The Lady Bulldogs scored four points in the first period, with Hannah Brown and Autumn Crook each sinking a two-point basket. Southside was held to a single free throw point.

DeKalb extended their lead in the second period, with Camille Barton hitting a three-pointer, and Kenadee Prichard making a two-point shot. Southside came away with five points, but DWS held a 9-6 lead at the half.

DWS got going in the third period, adding nine points to the scoreboard. Sophie Desimone had a three-point basket, while Barton came away with a pair of two-pointers. Prichard also added a two-point shot. Southside was held to six points, giving the Lady Bulldogs a 18-12 lead.

The Lady Bulldogs kept up the pressure in the fourth, netting eight more points. Desimone had a two and three-point basket, while Brown added a two-pointer and a free throw. Southside came away with seven points, giving DWS the 26-18 victory.

The following night, the Lady Bulldogs were again on their home court, this time taking on Carroll-Oakland. It would be another good night for DWS.

Things started slow for the Lady Bulldogs, with the team only scoring two points in the first period. Desimone and Crook each had a free throw point, but Carroll-Oakland was held to only three points.

The Lady Bulldogs got rolling in the second period, scoring 12 points. Prichard had a pair of two-pointer, while Desimone had a three-point basket. Brown and Barton each had a two-pointer, while Crook added another free throw. Carroll-Oakland was held to only two points, giving DWS the 14-5 halftime lead.

Crook had a two-point basket for the Lady Bulldogs in the third period, while Brown added a free throw point. Again, Carroll-Oakland was held to only two points. DWS was up 17-17.

Carroll-Oakland came away with nine points in the third period, but it would not be enough. Desimone and Barton each had a two-pointer for the Lady Bulldogs, while Crook had a two-point shot and a free throw. The Lady Bulldogs closed out the game with eight points and the 24-16 win.
