The DeKalb West School Lady Bulldogs were back on the hardwood last week, playing two more road games. They would dominate one game before taking on a tough Watertown team.
On Monday, November 27, the girls traveled to Forks River where they would get an impressive win. The Lady Bulldogs scored 22 points in the first period, with Camille Barton leading the way with five two-pointy baskets. Sophie Desimone scored a two-pointer, a three-pointer, and a pair of free throws, while Autumn Crook and Zoey Skeen each had a two-point basket. Forks River was allowed just one free throw point.
The Lady Bulldogs added 13 to the board in the second, with Desimone hitting a couple of two-pointers and a free throw, Crook two two-point baskets, and Barton and Skeen each with their own two-pointer. Forks River scored three, giving DWS the 35-4 halftime lead.
Crook had a pair of two-pointers for the Lady Bulldogs in the third, while Skeen added one. Again, Forks River was allowed just one free throw point. DWS was up, 41-5.
Desimone score a three-point shot for the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth. Forks River came away with six points, but DWS claimed the 44-11 victory.
The Lady Bulldogs faced a much tougher opponent the following Thursday, as they traveled to Watertown.
DWS scored 12 points to start the game, with a pair of two-point baskets and a free throw by Crook, and two two-pointers by Barton. Desimone also scored a two-point shot. Watertown came away with 24 points.
Barton added three two-pointers to the board for the Lady Bulldogs in the second, while Crook had one. Watertown kept moving with another 15 points and the 37-20 halftime lead.
The Lady Bulldogs scored 12 more points in the third period, with Barton hitting three two-point baskets and a couple of free throws, while Crook added a pair of two-pointers. Watertown added 14 points, going up 51-32.
Crook and Skeen would each have a two-point basket for the Lady Bulldogs in the fourth. Watertown would seal the game with six points, and the 57-36 win.
