Lady Saints Battle Teams
Soccer Ball

The Lady Saints not only battled Avery Trace and Overton Co. this week but also battled the elements.  With record highs, the Lady Saints stayed the course as they traveled to Avery Trace on August 22nd.  Because of the heat, the referees required extra water breaks throughout the game to get through it.  As the game began, the Lady Saints chance after chance to put one in the back of the net but failed.  The Lady Saints finally broke through with a great through ball from Hannah Tobitt as Chenoa Juarez gave DMS a 1-0 advantage right before halftime.  That proved to be all that was needed as the defense of Jerusalem Aldino, Evalyn Torres, Ivanny Earlington, and Cora Gilley held firm keeping the home team off the board.  Lady Saints escape with a 1-0 victory.

The heat continued to be a factor as the game time in Overton County on August 25th got pushed back to 7 P.M. instead of 6 P.M.  As the Lady Saints arrived at Livingston Academy they ran into an offensive juggernaut as they found themselves behind 2-0 at halftime.  The Lady Saints continued to fight, but couldn't capitalize on their scoring opportunities.  Overton put another in at the end of the game to beat the visiting Saints, 3-0.

The following week the Lady Saints found some more favorable weather as they traveled to White County on August 29th.  The Lady Saints offense came to work as Hannah Tobitt put in two early shots in the back of the net to make the score for halftime 2-0.  Azul Rueda put in another goal off the post from a great pass from Ximena Hernandez in the closing seconds to give the Saints a 3-0 victory.

The Lady Saints currently hold a 4-2 conference record and have a home stretch on the horizon.  The Lady Saints Saints are HOME on September 1st, 6th, 8th, and 14th.  All games starting at 6 P.M.  8th Grade night will be on September 14th at 5:30 P.M.
