On Dec. 11, the Lady Saints were at home, facing off with a team from Prescott Middle School. It would be a good night for DMS.
The Lady Saints claimed the first period with nine points. Joni Robinson scored a two and three-pointer, as well as getting a free throw point. Macy Hedge had a two-point basket, while Abbi Taylor scored a free throw shot. Prescott was held to four points.
DMS took another nine points in the second period, with Julia Curtis coming away with three two-pointers. Robinson had a three-point basket. Prescott only scored six points, giving DMS an 18-10 lead at the half.
Madison Parsley got on the scoreboard in the third, with a two-pointer and a free throw shot. Robinson and Curtis each had a two-point basket, while Taylor had a free throw. DMS scored eight, while Prescott inched closer with 11. DMS held the lead, 26-21.
The Lady Saints had six points in the fourth period, with Hedge getting a two-pointer and two points from free throws. Curtis also had a32- two-point basket. Prescott only scored two, giving DeKalb the 32-23 victory.
Hedge was two for four on free throws, while Taylor was two for six. Parsley was one for three, while Robinson was one for two.
On Dec. 13, the Lady Saints faced Rickman in a makeup game originally scheduled for Nov. 18. The game would go back and forth, ending in a one-point margin.
The Lady Saints ended the first period with 12 points. Curtis scored three two-point baskets, while Robinson, Hedge, and Taylor each had a two-pointer of their own. Rickman was held to six points.
DMS added 11 more points in the second period, with Curtis getting a two-pointer and four points off of free throws. Mya Ruch had a three-pointer, while Megan Walker scored two points from free throws. Rickman also scored 11 points, with DMS holding the lead at halftime, 23-17.
Ruch and Curtis each scored a two-pointer in the third, accounting for the four points for the Lady Saints in the period. Rickman came roaring back, scoring 12 points and taking the lead, 29-27.
The Lady Saints scored 15 points in the fourth period, with Sophie Cripps getting a pair of two-pointers and a free throw. Curtis had a two-point basket and four points from free throws, while Parsley had a two-pointer and two points from free throws. Rickman scored 12 points, giving DMS a 42-41 victory.
Curtis was eight for 10 on free throws, while Walker and Parsley were two for two. Cripps was one for three, while Ruch was zero for one.
