The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints softball team continued their winning ways last week as they dominated on the diamond, with their only scare being a close game with Smith County. DMS pitcher Kora Kilgore even recorded another no-hitter during a game.
On Monday, April 19, the Lady Saints were on the road, taking on Gladeville. DMS jumped out to a big lead in the first inning thanks to some big hitting. Singles by Zayleigh Washer, Annabella Dakas, and Avery Agee, a triple by Kora Kilgore, and Laurie Rigsby reaching on a dropped third strike, helped drive seven runs home.
Gladeville would score two points at their first at bat, but the Lady Saints added three more at the top of the second inning. Bryna Pelham tripled on a pop fly to center field, sending Agee home, while Adreana Cuevas and Pelham would steal their way home. By the end of two, DMS was up 9-2.
