Lady_Saints3 – Aubree Fuson takes a shot for the Lady Saints during last week’s home game.

The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints had a short week last week, taking a break for the Halloween celebrations and only playing at home on Thursday night. It would be a battle on the hardwood as the girls hosted a tough Upperman team.

Sophie Adcock scored the only points for DeKalb in the first period, a two-point basket, while Upperman jumped out to a big lead with 12 points.

The Lady Saints finally started moving in the second period, with eight points added to the board. Jordyn Agee sank a three-pointer and a pair of free throws, while Maggie Hendrixson hit a three-point shot of her own.

Upperman increased their lead with nine points, going up 21-10 at the half.

DMS put nine points on the board in the third period, with Lola Colwell sinking a three-pointer, while Agee had a two-pointer and a free throw. Adcock had a two-point shot, while Hannah Tobitt made a free throw shot. Still, as the game wore on, the Lady Saints just weren’t hitting on the shots they were taking.

Upperman was held to six points, but they still held a 27-19 lead.

Jerusalem Aldino hit on a three-point basket for the Lady Saints in the fourth period, while Agee added a free throw point.

Upperman ended the game with 10 more points, taking the 37-23 win.

Agee was the top scorer for the Lady Saints with nine, while Adcock came away with four points. Hendrixson, Colwell, and Aldino each had three, while Tobitt had one.
