After losing 5-0 against Warren County on August 17, then falling to Thurman Francis 8-0 the following Thursday, the DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints soccer team started to put things together last week.
On Tuesday, August 24, the Lady Saints traveled to Watertown and found themselves down 1-0 at halftime. Undaunted, the team never gave up, then Tatum Young made a great pass to Larissa Mooneyhan to put the Lady Saints on the board. The match would end in a 1-1 tie.
On Friday, the Lady Saints were on the road again as they traveled to Cookeville to play conference foe Avery Trace.
Again, Tatum Young was on fire as she scored all four goals for the Lady Saints. The defense hung tough and only allowed two goals. The Lady Saints took the 4-2 victory.
The Junior Varsity team also won 2-0 behind goals from Jerusalem Aldino and Valeria Serrano. The Lady Saints are now 2-0 in Conference play.
