The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints faced Van Buren Middle at the Mike Braswell Gymnasium in Smithville on Nov. 16, sending the Eagles back to Spencer with a 50-23 loss. DMS began strong, outscoring Van Buren 18-5 in the first period of the game, cementing a lead they would hold onto for the remainder of the contest. Emme Colwell scored seven points in the period, sinking two free throws, a two-pointer and a three-pointer.
