The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints showed Warren County some hospitality by beating them 46-29 in Smithville on Dec. 15.
DMS outscored Warren 10-7 in the first, and expanded their lead to 19-8 by the end of the first half. DeKalb led a 17-13 third quarter, going in to the final period with a 36-21 lead.
The Lady Saints led the fourth period 10-8, taking a 46-29 win at the final buzzer.
Kennedy Agee racked up 20 points against the Lady Pioneers, while Mallori Hart scored 10. Kadee Ferrell put nine points on the board for DMS, Megan Cantrell put five up, and Leah Davis added two.
The Lady Saints also dropped a 39-24 game to Watertown in Smithville on Dec. 12.
DMS trailed 13-5 after the first period, and 19-9 at the half. The Lady Saints outpaced Watertown 10-7 in the third, putting the score at 26-19 at the beginning of the fourth period.
Mirroring the first period, Watertown again outscored DMS 13-5 in the final quarter of the game, taking the win.
Kennedy Agee led the Lady Saint offense with eight points in the game. Mallori Hart put six points in, and Kadee Ferrell scored five. Megan Cantrell added three for DMS, and Katie Colwell scored two.
The Lady Saints visited White County on Dec. 19, and will be on break until Jan. 5, when they will host VanBuren County. Prescott Middle in Cookeville will then travel to Smithville to face DMS on Jan. 9.
