The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints went on the road last week, playing two conference games, and trying to stay in position for first place. DeKalb faced off against Macon County last Tuesday night, then traveled to Prescott Middle on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Sept. 18, the Lady Saints found themselves in a barn burner against a tough Macon County team.  The score was goose eggs at halftime, but shortly after the second half started, the Macon County Lady Tigers found the back of the net. They would enjoy the 1-0 lead for most of the half.

The Lady Saints did not give up however. With just five minutes left to go in the match, Kinsley Savage kicked the equalizer, tying the game. That would be where the match would end, 1-1.  The JV team lost their match, 1-0.

Kinsley Savage had the only Lady Saints goal in the game, with an assist by Tatum Young.

The following Thursday night, the Lady Saints were back on the road, this time at Prescott Middle School. DMS was ready to work as a team, and running on all cylinders.

The Lady Saints found themselves with a 3-0 lead at halftime, but the goal celebrations didn't stop there. The team put three more goals on the board in the second half, from some beautiful crosses.  DeKalb would take the 6-0 victory, while the JV team also claimed a 2-0 win.

Addison Miller and Katherine Knowles each had two goals in the game, while Tatum Young and Zoe Keys each had one. Tatum Young had two assists, while Rosio Godinez and Emily Robinson each had one assist.

The Lady Saints enter the last week of the Regular Season with an overall record of 5-2-2, and a 4-0-2 conference record.  The Lady Saints play host to Overton County on Tuesday, Sept. 22. for a battle for first place.
