On Sept. 16, Overton came to town, and proved to be a tough opponent for the Lady Saints as they beat the DeKalb, 5-3. Even though the Lady Saints took a late 2-1 lead in the second half, DMS’s defense could not hold, as the wildcats scored four more goals.

Sarah Starnes, Sophie Hackett, and Corina Mata each had a goal for the Lady Saints in the game. Goalkeeper Mary Maple had nine saves.

On the following Thursday, DMS was ready to end their two game losing streak. The Lady Saints came out on fire, scoring at will and winning the contest against visiting Jackson County, 10-0. The Lady Saints contained possession of the ball, which led to goals in the back of the net.

Malia Stanley had two goals in the game, while Sarah Starnes, Lizzy Guinn, Abbey Parchman, Harper Wallace, Aizley Turner, Mary Maple, Anna Rachel Blair, and Corina Mata each had one.

Goalie Mary Maple had two saves during play, while Robin Pafford had one.
