Lady Saints Take Win Over White County
by Chris Tramel

The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints soccer team continued their season over the past couple of weeks, claiming a win, a tie, and falling in a couple of games.

On Tuesday, August 30, the Lady Saints hosted Cumberland County and would take the early lead. The Lady Saints jumped out first with a goal from Alexa Acosta in the first half, with DMS holding a 1-0 lead with 10 mins to go in the contest. Cumberland would not go away and scored late in the game, leading to a 1-1 tie.

The following Thursday, the Lady Saints traveled to Macon County where they found themselves in a 1-0 deficit at halftime. After halftime, Macon came out on fire and would win this one 6-0.

The Lady Saints got their first win on Thursday, September 8, against the visiting White County Warriors. DMS jumped out to a 5-0 lead at halftime, and finished the game 6-0. Goals came from Reagan Williams, Zuly Beltran, and Alexa Acosta.

The next evening, DMS traveled to Algood were they faced a tough opponent. DMS found themselves in a 2-0 deficit at halftime. The Lady Saints continued to fight, but lost this one with a final score of 3-0. If not for DMS Goalkeeper, Willow Walker, it would have been much worse as she had over 20 saves.
