Lady Saints Win 1, Tie 1
The DeKalb Middle School Lady Saints were on the field last week, getting a non-conference win against Jackson County, then a tie against conference opponent Smith County.
A scheduled game against Fentress County on Tuesday, which was scheduled as Eighth Grade Night, had to be cancelled due to a Covid-19 outbreak at Fentress County. Eighth Grade Night was then rescheduled to the Thursday home game originally scheduled against Avery Trace, but that game had to cancelled due to Avery Trace being in quarantine. The opponent was then changed to Smith County.
On Monday, August 24, the team faced off against Jackson County, and came away with a big win. Tatum Young had three goals in the game, while Katherine Knowles came away with two. Addison Miller and Rosio Godinez each had one goal, giving the Lady Saints a 7-1 victory.
On Thursday, August 27, the Lady Saints hosted Eighth Grade Night before taking on Smith County. The tough game would end in a 1-1 tie, with Tatum Young scoring DMS's only goal. The Junior Varsity team won their match, 1-0, with a goal by Zoe Bennett.
