The DCHS girls' golf team competed in the district tournament on Monday at the Cookeville Golf Club. The district is compiled of over 20 teams from Single A and Double A classifications. The Lady Tigers won the district championship in convincing fashion by a total of 34 strokes to second place Central Magnet of Murfreesboro.
Mallory Sullivan led DeKalb with a score of 84, while Kalli Mitchell shot a score of 88 for the Lady Tigers, with a combined winning score of 172.
The Upperman Bees finished third in the district with a total of 207.
The Lady Tigers were undefeated in district play this year. DeKalb's number three golfer, Brooke Roller had an outstanding season and helped her team win several matches.
The boys' team will play in their district tournament on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Cookeville Golf Club. On Friday, both the boys and the girls will play in the Region Tournament which will also be played at the Cookeville Golf Club, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
