After being sidelined for a couple of weeks due to the COVID-19 spike, the DeKalb County High School Lady Tigers soccer team was back in action with a revised schedule of games. Their first game back they scored a big home victory against Upperman, grabbing a 5-0 victory in the match.
On Thursday, September 9, Christina Howard scored the first goal with Kendall Davis scoring the next two goals. Raven Savage got a goal of her own with an assist by Ariel Patterson, then Davis put the icing on the cake to give DeKalb the 5-0 shutout against Upperman.
Goalie Kelbi Young had three saves in the game.
On Monday, September 13, DeKalb gained another big victory as they took on White County. The Lady Tigers would shutout their opponent 7-0 in the game.
Cassandra Garcia scored the first goal, with an assist by Kendall Davis, then Davis came away with a goal with an assist by Raven Savage. Ariel Patterson scored next, then Allie Wilbur got a goal with an assist by Savage. Jacklyn Kleparek scored next, then Katherine Knowles put one in the net. Diana Ramirez put the final point on the board with an assist by Knowles, giving DeKalb a 7-0 shutout.
Young had four saves in the game.
On September 14, the Lady Tigers fell in a game against Cumberland County. Savage would score the team’s only goal of the game, with DeKalb falling 3-1.
Young had 21 saves in the match.
On Thursday, September 16, the Lady Tigers battled in a close match against Stone Memorial.
Cassandra Garcia scored the team’s only goal in the match, with an assist by Allie Wilbur. Stone Memorial would come away with the narrow victory, 2-1.
Young came away with 23 saves in the match.
