The DeKalb County High School Lady Tigers soccer team kicked off their season last week, hosting Jackson County on home turf. The girls would come away with their first win of the year.
Jackson County would strike first, scoring a goal at the 9:12 mark in the first half.
It wouldn’t take long for DeKalb to get on the board with Kendall Davis finding the net at 4:31, with an assist by Emily Robinson.
In the second half, the Lady Tigers would gain control after Rosio Godinez scored an unassisted goal with 22:47 left in the game. The game would play on, but the Lady Tigers would hold on to claim the 2-1 victory.
Goalie Caroline Tobitt claimed two saves in the game, while the offense took four shots at the Jackson goal.
