The Lady Tigers got stone-walled by Stone Memorial, losing 4-2 in the district battle against the Lady Panthers.
DeKalb County dropped to 3-5-1 overall and 1-1 in the region, good enough to remain fifth of the 10-team region with two district games left to play. They were 1-2 in their present home swing, going into their game scheduled last night against Macon County which also had a 1-1 region record.
The Lady Tigers found themselves on the wrong side of the scoreboard early against Stone Memorial as Alli Hepburn fired one past goalie Ariel Patterson in the fifth minute of the contest. Patterson made 12 saves on the night.
Lady Tiger Anna Rachel Blair was able to right the ship seven minutes later when she evened the game at one with a goal of her own. A goal by Rainey Tiner in the 30th minute gave the Lady Tigers their only lead of the night.
A pair of late first half goals, one by Katie Fagan in the 33rd minute and a Bekka Velong goal, assisted by Fagan in the 39th minute left Stone with the lead going into half-time.
The Lady Tigers were unable to answer in the second half, with Katie Fagan scoring her second goal in the 70th minute with an assist by Allison Seiber making for the final of 4-2.
The Lady Tigers will end their five-game home stand Thursday, Sept. 20 when they host district foe Livingston Academy before traveling to Cumberland County Tuesday.
