The DeKalb County Lady Tiger soccer team suffered their first loss of the regular season when they faced Smith County in Carthage on Sept. 15.
Haleigh Bass scored both DeKalb goals in the 3-2 loss to the Owlettes. The first came in the 27th minute of the game, while the second was dropped in with an assist from Angeles Soto in the 77th minute of the contest.
Although Goalie Jessica Billings posted an amazing 22 saves in the contest, Owlette Abby Smith got two by her, one in the 17th minute with an assist from Katy Wright, and another in the 35th minute. Julie Pardue put one in the net in the 50th minute of play to seal the win for Smith County.
The ladies from DeKalb then travelled to White County on Sept 15, adding another tie to their record after a 3-3 game.
While Goalie Jessica Billings racked up 13 saves on the night, Angeles Soto put a goal in in the 35th minute, then another in the 61st minute. Jerica Braswell added one in the 68th minute.
Jessie Green scored in the sixth minute of play for the Lady Warriors, and assisted Stephany Hickey in scoring in the 37 minute of play. Unfortunately, DeKalb tied the score up themselves when a Lady Tiger booted the ball into the wrong net to tie the score.
The DeKalb team, now 5-1-2 in regular season play, not counting three losses in tournament play, will travel to Murfreesboro to meet Central Magnet on Oct. 1, and will host Cannon County in Smithville on Oct. 6.
