The DCHS Lady Tiger basketball team suffered two losses last week, one at the claws of the York Institute Lady Dragons in Smithville Friday night, and one on the road against Livingston Academy Tuesday night.

York barely outlasted the Lady Tigers in a fight for the lead that ended with the Lady Dragons taking a 54-48 win.

DeKalb held a two-point lead at the end of an 11-9 first period, but after outscoring DCHS 12-8 in the second, the Lady Dragons took a 21-19 lead into halftime. An 18-15 third period battle saw the Lady Dragons increase their lead to 39-34 at the beginning of the fourth.

After trading the lead several times in the final period, York slipped back out front in the final minutes of the game, scoring 15 points while the Lady Tigers answered with 14.
