The DeKalb Lady Tigers soccer team took on some tough teams over the past couple of weeks, before getting a big shutout win at home. The night also served as Senior Night for the team, where the senior players were recognized for their achievements.

On Monday, October 4, the Lady Tigers faced off with Livingston in a match that would not go well for DeKalb. Livingston would come away with six goals in the game and shut out the Lady Tigers. Kelbi Young had 34 saves on the night.

The match the following evening would be much closer, but still wouldn’t fall DeKalb’s way. The Lady Tigers took on Stone Memorial, who would take the first lead at 28 minutes. Rainey Tiner would score for DeKalb late and send the game to overtime, but Stone would come away with the 2-1 overtime win.

On Thursday, October 7, the ladies were at home where they hosted Senior Night against Cannon County. Friends and family were on hand as the senior girls were recognized for their contributions to the team. Those honored were Christina Howard, Rainey Tiner, Sophia Angeletti, Diana Ramirez, Ariel Patterson, Martha Rico, and Allie Wilbur.

The Lady Tigers also came away with a big win on the evening, shutting out Cannon 9-0.

Martha Rico had a goal at 2 minutes, with an assist by Dianna Ramirez, then Katherine Knowles scored at 8 minutes, with an assist by Christa Howard. Kendall Davis found the net at 21 minutes, then Emily Robinson got a goal one minute later, with an assist by Howard.

Ramirez scored again at 37 minutes, then Ariel Patterson found the net at 44 minutes. Rainey Tiner struck next at 53 minutes, then Knowles scored once more at 61 minutes. Allie Wilbur nails the coffin shut with a goal at 64 minutes in the game. Young had three saves in the game.
