The DeKalb County Lady Tiger soccer squad put a 10-0 beating down on the Upperman Lady Bees on Sept. 20.
The Lady Tigers dominated the game with 10 goals and five assists, allowing the Lady Bees no opportunity to score at all. Haleigh Bass led the DMS team with four goals, one in the third minute of the game with an assist from Anna Rachel Blair, one in the eighth minute assisted by Sophie Hackett, one in the twelfth minute with a Chloe Braswell assist, and another in the 42nd minute.
Taylor Foutch put two in the net, one in the 19th and one in the 22nd minutes of the game, and Taylor Spare put one in in the ninth minute of play. Sophie Hackett scored in the 26th minute, and Abby Parchman placed a goal in the 56th minute with an assist from Bass.
Mercedes Bogle scored for DeKalb in the 68th minute with an assist from Sarah Starnes. Goalie Meghan Brandt recorded three saves in the game.
The ladies from DeKalb competed in the Rebelette Classic last weekend, losing two games and tying one. Despite an astounding 16 saves at the goal by Brandt, Blackman took the Lady Tigers down 5-0 on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The afternoon game saw DeKalb tie Warren County 2-2. Brandt saved 14 kicks from the net, and Bass scored a goal in the fifth minute and another in the 52nd. The Lady tigers fell to Franklin County on Sunday in a 3-0 game. Brandt was credited with eight saves in that game.
DeKalb won a 4-2 contest against White County on Sept. 15.
Bass scored three times, in the 37th 38th and 60th minutes of the game. Sophie Hackett rounded out the night with a goal in the 49th minute. Brandt registered six saves in the match.
The Lady Tigers, 5-5-2 on the season, will finish the regular season with three home games, facing Central Magnet at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, Cumberland County at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 4, and Watertown on Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
Post season play will begin on Oct. 8 with a 4th vs 5th Play-in.
10-Oct first round district tournaments will begin on Oct. 10, the second round is set for Oct. 11, and the district championship is scheduled for Oct. 13. The region tourney will begin on Oct. 18. Times and locations have yet to be announced.
