The DeKalb County High School Lady Tigers soccer team got off to a good start last week, winning their season opener at home against Watertown.
In the first half the Lady Tigers took a lot of shots at the goal, but it would be Kendall Davis that would find the net first, with an assist by Raven Savage and 5:10 on the clock. Defensively, DeKalb would keep neighboring Watertown off the board.
It would be a repeat in the second half, with DeKalb taking their shots while holding Watertown off. In the end, Tatum Young would find the net for the Lady Tigers, with an assist by Darrah Ramsey, leading the team to a 2-0 victory.
Davis would make seven shots at the goal during the game, while Young took five. Katherine Knowles made four attempts, and Raven Savage had three. Goalie Kelbi Young had 18 saves in the game.
Watertown made 11 attempts at the net during play, while Goalie Izzy Burns had 16 saves.
