The DeKalb County girls are off to a hot start, posting a perfect 2-0 record after going on the road to claim a 48-33 victory over Livingston Academy Tuesday night.
It was never in doubt for the Lady Tigers
as they held their hosts to three points in the first while going for 12
themselves. The rout got even worse for Livingston as they dug a 28-8 hole by
the half, one they would not be able to climb out of. Kadee Ferrell followed up
a 23 point performance against York last week with 16 in the Livingstone
landslide while Mya Ruch and Lydia Brown both broke double digits with 10.
Rounding out scoring for the 5-2 Lady Tigers was Emma Colwell with nine, Kenzie
France with 2 and Maddison Parsley with one.
While the girls are tied for first in the district, the boys have not had as much success as they fell 83-56 to Livingston despite having a 18-14 lead after one. The Tiger fortunes would go downhill quickly as they found themselves going from a lead to a seven-point deficit at half. The wheels finally came off in the fourth, leaving them with a 1-6 record and 0-2 in the district.
Contributing in scoring for the Tigers were Colter Norris with 14, Dallas Cook with nine, Nathan Atkins, Hayden Thomas, Josh Carlton and Evan Jones, all with six, Noah Martin and Brayden Antoniak with three and Dakota White with two.
The squads continue district play this Friday when they play host to Watertown. Game time for the Lady Tigers is 6 p.m. with the Tigers to follow.
