Lady Warriors take DeKalb down

Emme Colwell led the Lady Tigers with 11 points against White County.

 

The Lady Tigers faced White County Saturday afternoon in Smithville, coming away with a 63-44 loss to the Lady Warriors.

 

White outscored DeKalb 12-10 in the first period, but the Lady warriors put 20 points on the board in the second, giving the team from Sparta a 32-18 advantage at the half. A 20-12 third period in White’s favor put the tally at 52-30, and while the Lady tigers outpaced the Lady warriors 14-11 in the fourth, it was not enough to pull the game out.

 

Emme Colwell led the Lady Tiger offense with 11 points in the contest, going 6-for-5 from the free-throw line. Macy Hedge and Hanah Panter scored ten points each for DeKalb.

 

Lydia Brown contributed six points to the DeKalb offensive effort and Mya Ruch scored four, sinking a three-pointer and a foul shot. Maddison Parsley added three points to the Lady Tiger total.

 

The Lady Tigers, 8-6 on the season, hosted Upperman on Jan. 10, and will travel to Carthage to face Smith County on Jan. 13. The team will travel to Macon County on Jan. 17, and to Murfreesboro to play Central magnet on Jan. 20. All games tip off at 6 p.m. Tigers games will follow.
