



There was a large turnout for this year’s 25th Annual Fiddler 5K, with participants coming from far and wide. Organizers said that participation as returned to pre-pandemic levels with young and old alike taking part in the race.
The race is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of DeKalb County, Inc. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. The organization partners with people in the community, and all over the world, to help build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.
This year’s overall winner was 16-year-old Callahan Fielder of Brentwood TN who came in with a time of 16:16.9, while the overall female winner was 17-year-old Ella Van Vranken of Silver Point with a time of 20:31.3. Van Vranken came in ninth overall.
In the Masters category, 61-year-old James Angel of Smithville was first with a time of 20:01.9, while a 43-year-old anonymous participant was the female Masters winner with a time of 22:05.9.
In the Male 9 and Under category, 7-year-old C. Morris of Smithville came in with a time of 51:36.1, while 9-year-old G. Fulton of Kingsport, TN, finished with a time of 54:12.1. Third place went to 9-year-old J. Randolph of Smithville with a time of 55:01.6.
In the Female 9 and Under category, eight-year-old C. Cox was the winner at 44:50.7.
The winner in the Female 10 to 14 category was 14-year-old Taylor Shearer of Cookeville at 29:16.1, while 11-year-old H. Cope of McMinnville finished at 34:32.0. Third went to 13-year-old Sophie Adcock of Smithville with a time of 37:31.4.
For the Male 10 to 14 category, 14-year-old Tucker Brown of Pleasant Shade, TN, finished with a time of 18:36.9, while 14-year-old Nate Dyer of Murfreesboro was second with a time of 19:47.1. Third place was awarded to 12-year-old S. Thatcher of Cookeville with a time of 22:00.4.
The winner in the Male 15 to 19 category was 17-year-old Ian Colwell of Smithville with a time of 20:07.1, while 16-year-old Caleb Gray of Smithville was second at 20:19.4. Third went to 17-year-old Will Schwendinger of Washington D.C. with a time of 22:39.5.
The Female 15 to 19 winner was 15-year-old Mylie Phillips of Smithville at 26:34.8, while 19-year-old Cari Pautienus of Brentwood, TN was second at 27:40.8. Third place went to 18-year-old Lila Parker of Atlanta, GA, with a time of 38:58.7.
In the Female 20 to 24 category, 20-year-old Emme Colwell of Smithville came in with a time of 28:57.9, while 22-year-old Anna Rachel Blair of Chattanooga was second at 32:38.9. Third went to 21-year-old Carlie Hall of Brentwood, TN, at 33:53.1.
The Male 20 to 24 winner was 22-year-old Reese Gilbert of Brentwood, TN, with a time of 22:26.6, while 24-year-old Benjamin Whited of Murfreesboro came in with a time of 24:33.2. Matthew Coggin, 20, of Brentwood, TN, was third with a time of 24:51.8.
In the Male 25 to 29 category, 27-year-old Mason Doss of Doyle, TN, was first with a time of 22:39.2, while 27-year-old Jerome Kline of Cookeville crossed the line at 24:17.0. Third place went to 27-year-old Rush Milam of Smithville finished at 24:51.9.
The Female 25 to 29 category winner was 27-year-old Baylee Bain of Sparta at 29:45.1, while 28-year-old Maddie Layton of Colorado came in with a time of 33:37.1. Third went to 28-year-old Mercedes Beaty of Cookeville at 34:15.6.
For the Female 30 to 34 category, 32-year-old Carla Pelham of Smithville crossed at 25:11.0, while 30-year-old Caroline Cantrell of Smithville finished at 28:56.1. Candice Allen, 34, of Sparta was third at 29:49.0.
The Male 30 to 34 category winner was 33-year-old Daniel Ford of Little Rock, AR, with a time of 28:16.9, while 33-year-old Tyler Cantrell of Smithville was second with a time of 30:51.2. Colton McClanahan, 31, of Sparta was third at 32:38.5.
The winner in the Male 35 to 39 category was 38-year-old Wyatt Thatcher of Cookeville with a time of 24:12.5, with 36-year-old Andrew Carter of Chattanooga taking second at 25:02.6. Tyler Grandstaff, 35, of Smithville was third at 25:12.0.
In the Female 35 to 39 category, 37-year-old Caitlin Robbins of Cookeville finished at 24:44.8, while 38-year-old Lauren Keeton of Soddy Daisy, TN, was second at 25:10.5. Third went to 35-year-old Brandi Sims of Sparta at 29:45.6.
The Female 40 to 44 winner was 44-year-old Amanda Henry of Lebanon at 27:05.0, while 41-year-old Casey Agee of Alexandria was second at 27:19.2. Tara Brooks, 40, of Cookeville finished at 28:43.6.
For the Male 40 to 44 category, 43-year-old Dusty Smith of Cookeville came in at 24:28.8, while 40-year-old Nathan Aaron of Sparta was second at 24:41.0. Third went to 40-year-old Brian Soop of Cookeville with a time of 27:10.7.
In the Male 45 to 49 category, 47-year-old Sean Edwards of Carmel, IN, crossed at 20:09.7, while 48-year-old Robert Pautienus of Brentwood, TN, was second at 22:45.3. Josh Winfree, 47, of McMinnville was third at 22:57.8.
For the Female 45 to 49 category, 45-year-old Kristen Van Vranken of Silver Point came in at 22:14.6, while 47-year-old Valerie Tylka of Sparta was second at 27:46.7. Krista Hamilton, 45, of Cookeville was third at 30:59.4.
In the Female 50 to 54 category, 51-year-old Lori Gregg of Bringhurst, IN, came in at 28:09.3, while 50-year-old Rhonda Carr of Murfreesboro was second at 29:37.0. Third went to 52-year-old Nell Green of Shelbyville at 32:11.5.
The Male 50 to 54 winner was 51-year-old Travis Shope of Cookeville with a time of 20:27.3, while 51-year-old Clay Dyer of Murfreesboro had a time of 21:06.7. Third went to 52-year-old Rance Frye of Baxter with a time of 22:54.0.
For the Male 55 to 59 category, 57-year-old Paul Gonzalez of Newbury Park, CA, crossed at 28:28.5, while 55-year-old Jeffery Tanner of Alexandria was second at 29:26.5. Rob Howard, 57, of Sparta was third with a time of 37:07.9.
The Female 55 to 59 winner was 56-year-old Kendra Edwards of Carmel, IN, at 29:24.8, while 55-year-old Ingryd Nordquist of Cookeville came in at 33:01.1. Third went to 56-year-old Tammie Wright of Cookeville at 35:32.9.
For the Female 60 to 64 category, 63-year-old Tamra Smith of Shelbyville was first at 30:15.8, while 64-year-old Kim Medlin of Cookeville was second at 32:06.2. Third place went to 60-year-old Lindy Jenkins of Smithville at 34:02.2.
The Male 60 to 64 winner was 61-year-old Jackie Dawson Pleasant Shade, TN, with a time of 20:54.6, while 61-year-old Terry Quillen of Tullahoma crossed at 22:59.5. Mike Lee, 60, of Murfreesboro was third at 28:08.0.
In the Male 65 to 69 category, 65-year-old Doug Hooper of Smithville finished with a time of 31:35.3, while 68-year-old Kenneth Vinson of Toone, TN, came home at 33:47.7. In third was 69-year-old Michael Faehl of Cookeville at 34:29.3.
The Female 65 to 69 category winner was 65-year-old Carol Bumbalough of Franklin, TN, with a time of 30:55.1, while 68-year-old Lisa Faehl of Cookeville finished at 34:30.0. Third went to 69-year-old Carol Mosher of Muskegon, MI, with a time of 37:08.6.
In the Female 70 to 74 category, 71-year-old Judith Sullivan of Cookeville finished at 38:07.0, while 70-year-old Joni Worsham of Cookeville came in at 43:14.1. Third went to 73-year-old Nan Fletcher of Cookeville at 51:33.7.
For the Male 70 to 74 category, 72-year-old Dale Bohannon of Cookeville was the winner at 27:55.5, while 70-year-old Kenneth Weaver of Sparta finished at 46:05.7.
In the Male 75 to 79 category, 75-year-old Monte Lowe of Cookeville crossed the line at 43:58.7, while 75-year-old Danny Jenkins of Smithville was second at 44:35.2. Kenneth Guidara, 75, of Sparta was third at 52:09.1.
For the Female 75 to 79 category, 75-year-old Doris Brown of Cookeville came in at 43:56.4, while 76-year-old Donna Gibson of Dowelltown finished at 52:27.3. Kathy Fann, 78, of Cookeville came in at 57:25.8.
In the Female 80 and Over category, 80-year-old Janet Lowe of Cookeville finished at 1:01:45.5.
