Lee tops Lift-a-Thon

The annual DCHS Lift-a-Thon results are in, and 5'9, 210 pound senior Running Back-Linebacker Taylor Lee topped the competition with 1197 total yards, followed closely by senior lineman

 

 Luke Green (6’2-236) with 1195 total yards, and senior lineman Eli Cross (6’3-272) with 1172 total yards.

 

The Lift-a-Thon is held every year just before Tiger football season commences, and is scored not only according to strength, but by a combination of attendance, academics, and other factors.

 

In this year’s competition, Eli Cross and senior lineman Tayvian Nokes (6'1-265) topped the bench press, both lifting 285 pounds. Cross, Green, and Justin Perricone all went 255 pounds on the PC, and Cross squatted 500 pounds.

 

Cross and Nokes both joined the 1000 lb Club, with Cross totaling 1040 pounds and Nokes lifting 1010.   

 

Riley Sexton took the Pound for Pound Award, with a 5.03 percentage, and Andrew Fuson had the Biggest Increase with 0.38.

 

The Tiger Kings  for 2016 are Senior Taylor Lee, Junior Riley Sexton, Sophomore Andrew Fuson, and Freshman David Bradford

 

Best runs of the event went to Steven Jennings, who covered the 40 in 4.54 seconds, Colton Seifert, who completed the shuttle in 4.09, and Andrew Fuson, who ran the mile in 5:56.
