DeKalb County Little League games are underway with several close games played over the past few weeks. 
On May 13, DeKalb Depot played Liberty Machine during the opening of the season. 
Isaac Hall came in with a run in the first inning for DeKalb, and scored again in the fifth, along with Logan Cornelius and Dylan Cripps. 
Joey Burgess and John Maynard scored in the first inning for Liberty, then joined Chantz Bowling to score again in the third and fourth innings. 
Cornelius threw 85 pitches for DeKalb before being relieved by Tanner Poss. 
Derek Young pitched 52 for Liberty, before John Maynard came in and threw 18. Chantz Bowling then came in and ended the game. 
Liberty would come away with the win, 8-4. 
That same day Webb’s Pharmacy would get a shut-out against Rice’s Tigers. 
Brayden Howard came in with one run in the first inning for Webb’s, and again in the second. Colter Norris and Grayson Redmon scored in the third inning, while Luke Oliver came in in the fourth, and Brady Driver touched home in the fifth. 
Brady Driver pitched 41 pitches for Webb’s before being relieved by Luke Oliver who threw 23. 
Alex Snipes threw 85 pitches for the Tigers, and Josh Carlton threw 13. 
The final score Rice’s Tigers 0, Webb’s Pharmacy 5.
On May 16, another round of games were played, this time with some close scores. 
In a game between Rice’s Tigers and DeKalb Depot, Kobie Snipes, Garrett Driver and Alex Snipes came in with runs for the Tigers in the first inning, while Alex Snipes and Jayden Young scored in the fourth. 
Elijah Hall and Tanner Poss scored in the first inning for DeKalb, then joined Logan Cornelius, Jacob Freeman, and Dylan Cripps to score in the second.  Dusty Drennen rounded things out in the third, scoring one more run. 
Elijah Hall tossed 35 pitches for the Tigers, before Isaac Hall came in and threw 35.  Tanner poss then came in and finished the game. 
Daniel Puckett threw 47 pitches for DeKalb, before Josh Carlton came in and threw 35. 
DeKalb Depot would get the victory, 8-5. 
Liberty Machine met Webb’s Pharmacy that same evening in a close, low-scoring game.
Joey Burgess was the only player to score for Liberty, coming in with a run in the first inning. 
For Webb’s, Grayson Redmon scored in the first inning, then Luke Oliver sealed the win, coming in with a run in the sixth. 
Colter Norris tossed 22 pitches for Liberty before being relieved by Grayson Redmon, who threw 20.  Brady Driver would finish the game, throwing 19. 
John Maynard pitched the entire game for Webb’s, throwing 77 pitches. 
The final score Liberty Machine 1, Webb’s Pharmacy 2. 
On May 20, another round of close games was played, starting with a match-up between  Rice’s Tigers and Liberty Machine. 
Garrett Driver scored the first run for the Tigers in the second inning, while Josh Carlton, Kobie Snipes, Justin Washer, and Jacob Gora came in during the fourth.
Derek Young and Josh Maynard scored early for Liberty in the first inning.  Maynard would score again in the third, followed by Conner Rice and Will Stevens.  Chantz Bowling would seal the victory,  scoring a run in the fourth. 
Alex Snipes pitched for the Tigers, while Derek Young threw for Liberty. 
Liberty Machine came away with the win, 6-5. 
DeKalb Depot and Webb’s Pharmacy faced off that same evening with a 13-10 victory for Webb’s. 
Elijah Hall began the scoring for DeKalb, tallying one run in the first inning.  He would come in again in the third, as well as Tanner Poss.  Poss would score again in the fourth along with Logan Cornelius, Dylan Cripps, and Nick Morgan.  Poss, Cornelius, and Morgan would touch home plate one more time in the fifth inning. 
For Webb’s Luke Oliver, Colter Norris, and Grayson Redmon would come in with runs in the first inning, while Redmon and Brady Driver scored in the third.  Norris and Redmon would join Luke Bryant to score in the fourth inning, while Norris, Redmon, and Driver would join Logan Johnson and Noah Roberts to score in the fifth. 
Logan Cornelius threw 85 pitches for DeKalb during the game, before being relieved by Elijah Hall. 
Grayson Redmon tossed 77 pitches for Webb’s.  Brady Driver came in and threw 28 and Colter Norris finished the game, throwing 25. 
On May 30, Webb’s Pharmacy played a shut-out against Rice’s Tigers. 
Luke Oliver, Grayson Redmon, and Brady Driver scored in the first inning for Webb’s, while Oliver and Redmon, joined Colter Norris and Logan Johnson to score in the second.  Oliver would score another run in the fourth. 
Luke Oliver threw 50 pitches for Webb’s before being relieved by Brady Driver, who threw 14. 
Alex Snipes tossed 61 for the Tigers before Daniel Puckett came in and threw 22. 
The final score, Webb’s Pharmacy 8, Rice’s Tigers 0.
Later that evening DeKalb Depot and Liberty Machine played a game that was decided by one point. 
Elijah Hall, Isaac Hall, and Dusty Drennen scored in the first inning for DeKalb.  Elijah Hall would score again in the second inning, joining Tanner Poss and Jacob Freeman.  Poss and Isaac Hall scored in the fourth inning and Elijah Hall would score one more run in the fifth. 
For Liberty Machine, Chantz Bowling, John Maynard, and Justin Allen touched home plate in the first inning, while Dalton Bain scored in the second.  Maynard scored again in the third inning, along with Derek Young.  Maynard came in again in the fourth inning, followed by Joey Burgess. 
Tanner Poss threw 65 pitches for DeKalb, followed by Isaac Hall who threw 20. 
John, Maynard threw nine for Liberty.  Chantz Bowling pitched 32, and Derek Young threw 67. 
DeKalb Depot  came away with the win, 9-8.
